Cincinnati Swallows: Swallows, although beautiful little birds, can make an ugly mess on any overhang-type structure such as eaves, porch roofs, and underneath decks. Skunk Removal Cold Spring, KY: For about the last month, skunks in our area have been dormant, laying low and waiting out the cold weather. Late January marks the beginning of the skunk mating season in the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area. The onset of breeding season means skunks will begin traveling more frequently and further in search of a mate. Typically skunks stay in a 1/2 to 2 mile diameter area, but during mating season, a male may travel 4 to 5 miles a night. Raccoon Removal Cold Spring, KY: Raccoons are very opportunistic animals, regarding both where they den and what they eat. Highland Heights, KY Raccoon Removal: Raccoons, squirrels, and other wild animals are hunkering down in warm den sites for the cold winter. Raccoons leave the comfort of their den sites at night to scavenge for food. If you have a raccoon in your attic, you may hear the leaving and returning of it throughout the night. If there is an extreme cold spell, raccoons will not venture outside. This has led to a few current customers reporting that it sounds like a football game is going on in their attic all night long.
Raccoons living in close proximity to humans often take advantage of man made structures for shelter, especially in the winter. Cincinnati, OH – Squirrels Chewing Wires is Fire Hazard: PNC’s Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo is a wonderful Cincinnati tradition that attracts many families this time of year. Unfortunately, the lights (or more specifically, the wires) are also attracting squirrels. The zoo is teeming with squirrels year round, as it’s a wonderful squirrel habitat with an abundance of food thanks to tulip bulbs and visitors’ lunches. Squirrels are notorious chewers, and will chew on just about anything. One of their favorites happens to be electrical wires. Zoo staff is scrambling to replace strands of light ruined by squirrels.
